Club Safety Rules

The following safety rules are to be followed by all members and guests.

  1. No consuming any alcoholic beverages on club property while shooting or in possession of firearms.

  2. Ear and Eye protection is required to be worn on all ranges while shooting.

  3. No shooting anything other than targets on the ranges.

  4. Actions open on all firearms except when you are on the firing line and shooting.

  5. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

  6. Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot

  7. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

  8. Know your target and what’s beyond.

  9. NO rifle shooting is allowed from prone, kneeling or standing positions.

  10. All shooting must be done from the benches on the 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard rifle ranges. Pistol shooters are allowed to stand on the 7, 15 and 25 yard pistol ranges.

When a range monitor is on duty you must sign in at the range monitor building. The range monitor will ask to see your membership card and driver’s license or other picture ID. They will make sure you have ear and eye protection and will monitor and enforce the club rules. Any charter member can also ask you to verify your membership and to obey the club rules.

If you need to buy or renew a membership you can do that at the range monitor building as well as in the clubhouse during club hours. No Guests are allowed to use the ranges.

Paper targets on the target boards are the only targets allowed. You must provide your own targets. Don’t forget to bring a stapler or something to hang your target.

Please police your area when you are finished shooting.  The next shooter will thank you for not having to wade through a sea of spent brass.

If you have dud rounds, please deposit them in the white pipe you see near the line, do not dump them in the trash barrels! They can pose a real hazard to our grounds committee as they mow the grass or burn trash.
