| I'm sorry we had to cancel the May
plate shoot, but Mother Nature did not wish to cooperate with
us. But there is always the next match on Saturday, June 10.
Speaking of which, we are trying to expand our
matches to include other fun events. One of which we will try for
June is a shotgun shoot. What we're thinking is that a lot of people
have a shotgun in the closet or somewhere that they plan to use
for home defense, but end up not touching it for many years. What
we want you to do is bring it to the plate shoot, and after
everybody has shot their timed events we will have another event
for the shotguns. This event will use the same targets as the plate
shoots but will not be timed for placing. We want you folks to get
to know your shotgun again. To get to know where it shoots, and
how it handles. This is a separate fun event that will cost an
extra $5.00 for those who participate. The rest of you folks can
still shoot plates with your handguns, while the shotguns are going
through the course, so nobody will feel cheated.
Because of how close the plates are we have to
limit the size of the shot for the shotguns. The sizes we can
allow is 7 1/2, 8, or 9. I realize this is not your normal home defense
load, but at least you can get the feel of the shotgun and know where it
shoots. Come on out and give it a try. We try to make it fun and
hope you enjoy it.
